A UK lawtech start-up aimed at organising group actions is raising £750,000 in its second round of funding and has secured Australian litigation law firm Shine as an investor.
Find Others – which rebranded earlier this year from Glow Legal – recently launched with free tools for people to create campaigns and petitions, and move on to build group legal actions that would be of sufficient size to interest law firms and funders.
It will soon launch an end-to-end platform for law firms to build and manage group actions.
Litigation funder Woodsford has joined as a launch partner to advise and help promote Find Others, while Brandon Ransley, Dentons’ former UK managing partner and a non-executive director of Find Others, has added to his first-round investment.
The funding round is still open to new investors. The investment will finance the company through its launch and growth phase.
The £50,000 it received from the challenge was “instrumental in financing the first few months of development and getting the project off the ground”, the company said.
Find Others co-founder Amar Chauhan said: “The management and initiation of group litigation claims across the world is archaic and costly, prolonging the road to justice to the detriment of claimants and law firms.
“We have developed a platform that solves this. We understand that modernising an entire sector is no mean feat, which is why we are very pleased to have Shine Lawyers and Woodsford support us on our journey.”
Shine Lawyers is a listed firm in Australia and leading claimant practice. Chief executive Simon Morrison said: “We are very impressed with what Find Others are doing and believe they have created something extremely powerful and capable of reinventing the group litigation sector, especially in regards to global, multi-jurisdictional cases.”
In a statement, Woodsford said: “We believe Find Others has the potential to be a game-changer for all stakeholders involved in group litigation. It will increase access to justice for claimants and increase efficiencies for legal professionals managing cases.”
Find Others also announced that Maximilian Weiss, a partner at German law firm TILP, has joined its advisory board to assist with German expansion plans.
