PD changes to go with new rules of court now published

The Civil Procedure Rule Committee has today finally released the changes to practice directions that support the 60th update to the CPR, which come into force on 1 April.

Among other things they confirm that the new limit for provisional assessment will be bills worth up to £75,000, even though it was piloted at £25,000 and was understood that roll-out would be at that level too.

Despite repeated requests from this website, the Ministry of Justice has not provided an explanation for the controversial increase.

As Litigation Futures reported last week, there will be a further statutory instrument and practice direction document with amendments next month.
