The Claims Management Regulator (CMR), based at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has fined a claims management company £220,000 for making nuisance calls about claims for noise-induced hearing loss – the first fine of its kind.

Judge criticises insurer bid to cut costs by reclassifying noise-induced hearing loss

A High Court judge has criticised the insurance industry over a failed attempt to have noise-induced hearing loss reclassified as an injury rather than a disease, in a bid to reduce the level of pre-Jackson success fees defendants would have to pay.
